Sundaranga Jaana movie review: 'Forget' not to laugh

A classic plot of absent mindedness paving way for a laughter riot is the basic essence of 'Sundaranga Jaana'.

Director: Ramesh Aravind

Cast: Ganesh, Shanvi Srivastav, Devraj, Rangayana Raghu, Veena Sunder, Ravishankar, Sadhu Kokila

Even as the sandalwood's gold started losing its sheen, the golden star Ganesh makes a come back with a rib tickling remake of a Telugu hit 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoy'. A classic plot of absent mindedness paving way for a laughter riot is the basic essence of 'Sundaranga Jaana'.

Despite the only weakness that it is a remake, the director has turned it into an enjoyable two plus hours for those who just want to 'forget' their worries and crave for a pure classic comedy minus vulgarity and excessive double entendres.

For those, who are unware of the original, its a simple story which later gets entangled within the characters and the plot 'lightens' with bundles of comic confusions. Lucky portrayed by Ganesh is unluckily short of memory. He is 'Ghajini' of a different sort with a whole new make-over. He seeks no revenge but love and as he does so, one can only laugh at his memory.

A slight diversion, and Lucky tends to completely forget what he actually goes on to do in the initial. He accidentally meets the pretty girl 'Nandana' played by Shanvi, and he loses himself in her love.

Further, Devaraj who portrays the girl's father makes it very for tough for lucky to reach his lovely destination. While the innocent Nandana is smitten by the absent minded lucky she is unaware of his weakness. With the right proportion of comedy, romance and a pinch of emotion Sundaranga Jaana is perfect mix for an hilarious journey.

It's a tailor made character for Ganesh, and Shanvi excels with yet another honest portrayal of an innocent girl and her beautiful smile makes you fall in love and envy lucky for two hours. Credit goes to Ramesh Arvind with a 'clean' entertainer. Watch lucky's unlucky escapades which comes with guaranteed laugh. And yes, Sadhu Kokila, Ravishankar, Rangayana Raghu are the choco chips on a tasty ice-cream.
