Jyo Achyutananda movie review: Good movie with hilarious first half

Popular actor Srinivas Avasarala, who had made his directorial debut with the successful 'Oohalu Gusagusa' Lade a couple of years back, makes a comeback with 'Jyo Achyutananda'.
The film’s interesting promos, the success of the director’s first film, and a big star cast of Nara Rohit, Naga Shourya and Regina had created a hype around the film.
Brothers Achuth (Nara Rohit) and Anand (Naga Shourya) adore each other. They get married as per their parents’ choice. Achuth is well-settled while the younger one, Anand, is struggling as a medical representative.
At Achuth’s marriage anniversary party the brothers argue about a girl named Jyotsna (Regina Cassandra). The wives naturally suspect something fishy and the two tell the tale of how both had once fallen for the same girl, who had been a tenant in their house. She, however, was in love with someone else and had left for the US.
Suddenly Jyotsna returns and trouble brews up once again between the brothers.

Unlike his first film, which was a romance, Srinivas Avasarala has injected a lot of fun elements in this one, as well as showing the emotional bond between brothers. He has made the screenplay interesting and fun.
Another departure from regular films is that the two lead actors are already married. Their love stories are shown in flashback till the interval and the second half takes place in the present.
The first half has a lot of humour, with witty dialogues that are also written by Srinivas. He, however, has not managed to maintain the tempo in the second half. It drags at places and is also a bit predictable.
But on the whole, Srinivas Avasarala has come up with an entertainer.
When it comes to performance, Nara Rohit and Naga Shourya are great. Both are natural and look like brothers. The bulk of Nara Rohit gels nicely with the character of the elder sibling. But of the two, Naga Shourya’s performance is better.
Regina looks beautiful and her performance is impressive. In the other roles, Seetha and Thanikella Bharani have supported well as is Nani’s cameo in the end.
Music by Kalyana Ramana is impressive and the songs are well written. The music is in fact another plus point about the film. The other good thing is cinematography by Venkat C. Dileep. The art work should be mentioned.
To sum up, 'Jyo Achyutananda' is a good film with a hilarious first half. Though the second is a bit slow, but Srinivas Avasarala has managed to pull it off. In recent times many small films with good content have been hits in Tollywood and 'Jyo Achyutananda' falls in the same category.
