Eradanesala movie review: Love is where the Mother is

Eradanesala', is the simplest form of entertainment with love.

Director: Guru Prasad

Cast: Lakshmi, Dhananjay, Sangeetha Bhat

Mumbai: The master of suspense - Alfred Hitchcock once said that in order to make a great film you need three things – the script, the script and the script. While such is the power of it, it wholly depends on the creative level of a director for that magical experience on big screen. Guru Prasad's familiar work in ‘Eradanesala’ closely reminds of one such basic principle of filmmaking. In totality, ‘Eradanesala’, is the simplest form of entertainment with love.

But when it gains pace, it elevates to another level when brushing the mother of all emotions.

The plot revolves around two characters with frequent interventions by another one. No, it's not the regular triangle love story. At times when filmmakers and composers are accused of plagiarism in movies, Guru Prasad like always, sticks to his original gun, firing at will and miraculously hitting the target in the end. It caters to all who seek for some fun, entertainment in addition to the director's sensible message before he wraps it up on a high.

Making use of the human tendency when restrictions are applied, the movies is a roller coaster of its own kind. A mother (widow) tells her only child, her son to not to fall in love with the girl who is coming up to stay with them for education. With no such restriction for the girl, a man's nature is put to test. Ultimately love prevails. This is exactly the nutshell of ‘Eradanesala’. Always, there is a larger picture hidden with it.

Mocking at formula based films and even smartly mimicking a few popular characters, random scenes which are irrelevant at times, the one-liner jokes with extra punching dosages makes it fun. It cuts through beautifully composed songs, and the one about mother is the real heart touching one. Coming to the brilliant performances, the magician - Lakshmi is at her motherly best and whereas Dhananjay and Sangeetha Bhat, as lovers make the audience fall in love with their best onscreen chemistry. It will certainly pep up their future prospects.

Before summing it up, apart from the occasional irritating camera work and a couple of unwanted elements, not just Guru Prasad who reclaims his position but even Dhananjay, and Sangeetha, who was looking for that magical break in her career, has done a pretty gob job. Do take your mother to watch this one.
