Playback singer Chinmayi Sripada has been abused online ever since her filmmaker-husband, Rahul Ravindran, spoke of her choice regarding Malgalsutra. Rahul made the remark in the run-up to his movie, The Girlfriend. The couple has been subjected to unspeakable abuses over their personal choice.
A morphed image of Chinmayi was recently shared online by a netizen. The singer brought it to the attention of the Hyderabad police on Wednesday night. "I got a morphed image from a page today and tagged the cops - whether legal action will happen or not is not the issue. But I made this video for girls and their families to safeguard against the ‘La*ja Mu*da’ spewing people here who have been paid to do this for the past 8-10 weeks to harass our family," she wrote.
Even her kids have been given death threats, she added.
