After finding a spot to compete in the Best Original Song section in the Oscars, Jayaraj’s multilingual Veeram has reportedly found a place in the long list awaiting nomination in the Best Film category.
Director Jayaraj who verified the report says, “A week ago the song ‘We will rise’ from Veeram was shortlisted for Best Original Song. We got to know yesterday that there is a short listing for Best Film as well. This is in the original long list and that itself is a great achievement. This is not the Foreign Language category, this is going as an English film. We had released the English version of Veeram in Los Angeles around October-November and had applied for the Oscars directly from there. The final nominations will be announced by January 24.”
