Stand Up says the story of two friends, narrated by one of them who is a standup comedian.

State Award winning director Vidhu Vincent's new film Stand Up revolves around Standup comedy, a subject that has been made into a Malayalam movie for the first time. The movie, which talks about how the protagonist does standup comedy for a living has Nimisha Sajayan doing the lead role. Rajish Vijayan who was last seen in Arun P.R. directorial Finals will also portray a pivotal character in Stand Up.

The movie revolves around the relationship between two women and how one of them, who is a comedian, shares various instances from their lives in a light-hearted way through her performances. While Nimisha plays the character of Keerthi, a standup comedian in the movie, Rajish appears as Diya her friend. However, the team of Stand Up has not revealed the details of Rajisha's character in the movie as a suspense element is supposed to be connected with the same. The movie is touted to release by the end of November.

Vidhu who was a journalist for several years ventured into filmmaking through Manhole in 2016, which gained her many accolades and awards including State Award for Best Director in the same year. Stand Up is her second movie. The supporting cast of the movie includes Arjun Ashokan, Divya Gopinath
(Ayal Sasi fame) and Venkitesh.

The movie produced by Anto Joseph and B. Unnikrishnan under the
banner of anto Joseph productions has been penned by Umesh Omanakuttan who also wrote the script of Manhole. The collaboration of three state award winning talents might be a treat to watch.
