Dulquer Salmaan to play an army man
After delivering a stellar performance as Gemini Ganesan in Mahanati, Dulquer Salmaan is now set to enthral the audience in another powerful role in a historical fiction drama.
The Zoya Factor star will be seen as Lieutenant Ram in an upcoming untitled multilingual (Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam) love story set in the 1965 Indo-Pak War.
The production house Swapna Cinema released the concept poster on Tuesday with the tagline, Yuddham Tho Rasina Prema Katha (Love in the time of War).
Talking about the film, director Hanu said, “I have penned a fictional story based on real-life events that have emerged during the 1964 India-Pakistan war. I have had this idea for a long time, and I believe Dulquer will be apt for this story. He has the knack of carrying off any role with great panache, and I feel the role of an army man will be apt for him,” the director shared, adding that he had completed the script. Apparently, the Karwaan star okayed the script in a single sitting. “Dulquer loved the emotional depth and the layers his character goes through in the film. He agreed to come on board after just one discussion,” said Hanu, who is currently penning the dialogue version.
