Going great guns
Music director Deepak Dev is gifted with the Midas touch. Right from Chronic Bachelor, his first movie as a composer, he has been making memorable tunes that linger on for long. His winning streak has continued over 14 years with Naran, Puthiya Mukham, Urumi, Grandmaster, Bicycle Thieves, Avatharam and the latest Sunday Holiday, among several others. Deepak, who is currently composing for Arun Kumar Aravind’s Kaattu, took to Facebook on Thursday to announce “Today was one of the best recordings in my career till date!”
The post read, “Recorded Shri Unnikrishnan for Arun Kumar Aravind’s upcoming movie Kaattu. This was a song that I had been longing to record from the day it was composed, for the prime reason being that I’m going to be having Unnichettan in my song for the first time in all these years!!! And it was worth the wait ?? Thanking God!!! (sic)” Kaattu, which has Asif Ali, Murali Gopy and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in major roles, is scripted by Anantha Padmanabhan, son of the legendary director Padmarajan.
