Mumbai: Senior civil police officer Aparna Lavakumar made a splash on social media when she shaved off her knee-length locks to donate her tresses to enable wigs to be made for cancer victims. Soon after her selfless act went viral, her social media account was flooded with well wishers and congratulatory messages from strangers.
In the long line of her well wishers was also a prominent Bollywood actor. Anushka Sharma took notice of the news report and shared a picture of the civil police officer's story, not forgetting to add a heart and a sparkle emoji to demonstrate her support. Doing such selfless acts is nothing new for Aparna who had offered her gold ornaments to a family, struggling to settle a hospital bill to get back the body of a loved one.
