Ask any Malayali about his/her favourite Malayalam song of 2018 that he/she had been listening to in a loop. The answer would undoubtedly be Jeevamshamayi from the movie Theevandi. The latest news for all those who adore the song is that with 50 million views, Jeevamshamayi is the third most viewed Malayalam film song on YouTube. The song sung by Shreya Ghoshal and K.S.Harishankar has been penned by Harinarayanan. Kailas Menon is the composer.
The movie, a political satire which has Tovino and Samyuktha Menon in the lead roles, was directed by debutant Felini T.P. and scripted by Vini Viswalal. The movie that was released on 7th September 2018 opened to mixed responses. While some of the audiences were happy to see their favourite star portraying the struggles of a chain smoker on screen, some were against smoking being glorified in the movie. Theevandi is Tovino’s first movie with August Cinema.
Other actors like Sudheesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Rajesh Sharma, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saiju Kurup, and Shammi Thilakan, too, played pivotal roles.
