Hollywood Short film, A Wonderful Day, directed by Romeo Katookaran has won the Omlympus Film festival award for Best First time Filmaker and Best Producer.
The short film, which has various junior artists of main stream Hollywood movies, is a heartwarming drama of how the members of a homeless community receive gifts from a stranger, which brings happiness in their lives, filled with miseries.
A Wonderful Day penned by Romeo has also won 10 other achievements, which include several awards and accolades. Romeo who is a Thrissur Native, went to the United States of America ten years back to join the New York International Film Institute and wishes to make a Malayalam movie soon. Though he had planned one with Jayasurya in the lead few years back, things did not work out. However, the writer-director considers the success of his short film as a ticket to both Hollywood as well as Indian cinema.
