It was only a matter of time before she was noticed, after featuring in several commercials, and approached for a film. The model/actor is acting opposite Rahman in the Tamil film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru which will hit the screens this year end. Contrary to the clichéd words of ‘films have always been a passion since childhood’, Anjana chooses to candidly say, “I was never interested in acting or modelling; it just happened by chance! While doing my engineering in Coimbatore, a couple of my friends were making a short film and I started out acting in that. Luckily, the short film won many awards and was also shortlisted nationally. That stint of acting got me hooked and subsequently I got into modelling too.”

The girl with roots in Kottayam is settled in Kochi now. Anjana did her studies in Dubai and adds that she has also directed a music video. She elaborates, “I used to write stories since childhood and I directed a cover song of an old Hindi song because I thought directing something could get me a better understanding of acting. I enjoyed that part too because while directing, you are creating new scenarios, characters and a story. I also acted in a music video called Sun Le Zara.”

Coming back to her acting stint in Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, she says, “Actually I knew the director Karthick Naren since his days as an aspiring director and when he was planning a movie, I was called for an audition and I got through. My character does not have any romantic aspect and Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru is an investigative thriller. I have a meaty role in this film.”
