Assault cruel, unique; No bail for actor Dileep
Kochi: Kerala High Court on Monday rejected the bail application of actor Dileep who was arrested in the actress assault case. A single bench, considering the arguments of the prosecution, observed, “the facts show that prima facie there are materials to suspect the involvement of the petitioner in the crime. Investigation is still progressing. It is at a crucial stage,” it said. The court observed that it was too early at this stage to grant bail to Dileep.
It stressed the cruel nature of the crime committed by Pulsar Suni while denying bail to Dileep. The prosecution argued that Dileep had hatched a conspiracy with Suni and offered money for the same. The state argued that Dileep's manager Appunni has been absconding and that the lawyer involved has to be effectively questioned. The possibility of implicating other persons in the crime has also not been ruled out by the DGP. Investigation seems to be progressing, the court observed.
