Malayalam actress abduction: SIT to approach court; seeks to expedite trail
Kochi: The Special Investigation Team probing the actress assault case will approach the Ernakulam District and Sessions Court to expedite the trial. “We’ll move a request once the case comes up before the sessions court,” sources said. The move is aimed at avoiding the possibility of the accused, including actor Dileep, from influencing the witnesses during the delay in trial. The SIT will also approach the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court at Angamaly seeking to revoke the bail granted to Dileep, eighth accused, in two days.
“A petition to this effect will be filed once the court completes verification of the chargesheet and accepts the same in its file,” they said. In the supplementary chargesheet, the SIT lodged conspiracy charges against Dileep along with main accused Pulsar Suni besides various other charges, including gang rape.
The investigation team cited eight reasons for the actor to have a personal grudge against the victim. He had conspired with Suni to attack the actress way back in 2013, but failed to carry it out till the death of her father. The duo then again plotted and finally Suni and his gang attacked her on February 17 last, the chargesheet said.
