THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When cine actor Mohanlal re-launched his website www.thecompleteactor.com , it was no surprise that comedian Jagathy Sreekumar was roped in to inaugurate it. Eight years ago, when the website was launched by Jagathy, he had declared that Lal, Nedumudi Venu, Thilakan and Bharath Gopy and himself as the only best actors in Malayalam raking up a storm. Coincidentally, all actors in the list who are alive, were present during the re-launch. “The fact that Ambili chettan (Jagathy) has returned to nomal (after a road accident) gives me tremendous joy,” said Mohanlal.
Actors Madhu, Nadhu, Maniyan Pillai Raju, director Priyadarshan and playback singer MG Sreekumar were present. “The idea of a complete actor website was pitched to me by eight of my fans who were college students then. In those days, they had to convince me of the utility of starting a website. Today it has become my window of interaction to all malayalees who are family to me. Around 30 people now help me manage this,” the cine actor said. The re-launched website features an art gallery and will have photographs of antiques which are in Mohanlal’s custody. It also features a Lal store with goodies like T-shirts signed by Mohanlal. All of them will be sold and the proceeds will go to charity.
Puli locket gets Rs 30 lakh bid
The locket that Mohanlal wore in the Rs 100 plus crore grosser movie ‘Pulimurugan’ has been put on auction on the site. The highest bid as on Monday evening was for Rs 30 lakh and the auction will be closed in another day.
