Malayalam actress abduction: Police not to give visuals to Dileep

Says accused will misuse the evidence.

KOCHI: The prosecution in the abduction and sexual assault of a woman actor submitted that the visuals of the assault could not be given to Dileep, the eighth accused in the case. The counsel for the prosecution told the Angamaly magistrate court on Monday that Dileep had sought the visuals with the intention of further defaming the woman actor. The court also came down heavily on the media for wrong reporting of court proceedings.

The prosecution also submitted that the handing over of the visuals would also impact the privacy of the woman actor. The court posted the petitions filed by Dileep for further hearing on Wednesday. Dileep had filed petitions in the court in which he had sought copies of the entire records connected with the case including the visuals of the attack submitted by the prosecution.

The prosecution informed the court that the points raised by Dileep in his petition were against common sense. It also mentioned that Dileep had been indulging in propaganda by giving details of his petition to the media. Raising objections against the demand by Dileep for the visuals allegedly recorded by Sunilkumar aka Pulsar Suni, the first accused in the case, the prosecution also denied the contention of Dileep about a contradiction between the first and second charge-sheets submitted by the police. The police also said that Dileep was trying to mislead by selectively using certain comments from the visuals out of context.
