Another Adaar' row as FIR stayed
The instant fame of the winking girl (Priya Prakash Varrier) in Oru Adaar Love is in for a controversy over plagiarism. Sabu P.K., producer of the film Kidu, has alleged, through a Facebook video, that the classroom scene in the viral song was copied from his movie.
“People were asking if our movie has copied the scene from Oru Adaar Love. In fact, we wrapped up the shoot on November 25 and the editing got over in January. The editor of both the movies is the same person. He had started the work of Oru Adaar Love after completing our film,” says Sabu in the video.
The film directed by Majeed Abu stars Leona Lishoy, Anjali Nair, Sunil Sukhada, Sudhi Koppa, etc.
The producer, however, feels that there are chances of ideological resemblances between the works. There has not been any report of the Kidu makers attempting to take legal action against Omar Lulu’s film.
Meanwhile, Omar has thanked the Supreme Court for staying the FIR filed in Hyderabad against the song, on a Facebook post. He writes: "Big thanks to Honble Supreme Court of India. The Court has stayed the FIR filed in Hyderabad and restrained all States from registering any complaint on the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi against me, Priya P Varrier and the producer Ousepachan Sir Thanks Adv Haris Beeran for all the support!!! And I’m also grateful to all my friends, supporters, well wishers and the media for your timely help and support (sic)."
