Kalabhavan Mani's death: Film fraternity demands investigation
KOCHI: Innocent, president of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), has demanded that a comprehensive probe should be ordered into the circumstances that led to the death of actor Kalabhavan Mani.
He said that the probe should answer questions regarding who brought the liquor and who all were present along with Mani. Promising full support to the probe, he said the culprits should not be given any protection. Mr Innocent was speaking after the government forensic lab in Kochi confirmed the presence of insecticide in the blood stream of the last actor.
Film Employees Federation of Kerala has also sought a thorough investigation that would address the concerns and doubts of family members, colleagues and friends of Mani. In a statement FEFKA president Sibi Malayil and general secretary B. Unnikrishnan expressed the hope that there will not be any lapses in this regard.
The Malayalam Cine Technicians Federation has also called for detailed and comprehensive probe into the death. "The Federation will also consider approaching the court seeking a high-level probe into the incident," said its president Biju Kottarakkara.
