Inspiring act
A filmmaker gives away half of the collections of his movie for the welfare of the flood-affected. The makers of the independent film Mammali Enna Indiakkaran have donated 50 per cent of the collection to Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
In a Facebook post by playwright-turned-screenwriter Rafeeq Mangalassery, he explains that half the proceeds from the screening has gone to the CMDRF. “Though the collection earned by this parallel cinema initiative from a handful of theatres is very small, we are glad to be donating half the proceeds to the CMDRF. I would like to appreciate the producer for this kind gesture. Hope that this little act would serve as an inspiration to others ,” the post read.
Producer Karthik K. Nagaram who played the lead role in Mammali which chronicles the struggles of a middle-aged man and the current policitical happenings in the State.
