A filmmaker gives away half of the collections of his movie for the welfare of the flood-affected. The makers of the independent film Mammali Enna Indiakkaran have donated 50 per cent of the collection to Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

In a Facebook post by playwright-turned-screenwriter Rafeeq Mangalassery, he explains that half the proceeds from the screening has gone to the CMDRF. “Though the collection earned by this parallel cinema initiative from a handful of theatres is very small, we are glad to be donating half the proceeds to the CMDRF. I would like to appreciate the producer for this kind gesture.  Hope that this little act would serve as an inspiration to others ,” the post read.
