Jude's next on Kerala Floods
After a hiatus of two years, Jude Anthany Joseph is ready to don the director’s hat again. The movie, which is titled 2403ft., is based on the floods that shattered Kerala last month. Produced by Anto Joseph, the movie’s tagline reads ‘Story of Unexpected Heroes’. The announcement, interestingly, comes a few days after Aashiq Abu announced Virus, which is also reportedly based on true stories during the outbreak of Nipah virus in Kerala.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Jude explains that it will be the story of those who dared to save lives — the fishermen who saved thousands, the armed forces who operated in critical locations and the nameless hundreds who helped fight the disaster from different parts of the world. “It’s a story of survival and the shows the unity with which people faced the calamity,” the post reads.
Jude’s third directorial, after the blockbuster Om Shanti Oshana and Oru Muthassi Gadha, boats of a stellar crew. The film will see cinematographer Jomon T. John coming back to Malayalam after a gap, Takeoff director Mahesh Narayanan in charge of editing and Jude’s favourite Shaan Rahman composing the music. The script is co-penned by John Manthrickal and the director. Further details of the cast and crew are yet to be revealed. 2403ft. is slated as a 2019 release.
