Rima to play lead in a film based on the Kochi Metro

Rima's efforts to see the character of the Metro man named M. Madhavan in the film and the consequences will form the plot of the film.

Cinema can have elements of fantasy as well as real elements inspired from daily life. Events that have an impact on society are immediately cashed in and brought alive on the silver screen with some fantasy elements woven in. The Kochi Metro has been in the news for the past several months and the film fraternity is leaving no stone unturned in cashing in on the reflected glory. An upcoming film titled as Arabikadalinte Rani — The Metro Woman will have Rima Kallingal play a saleswoman from Thripunithura who is a fan of the metro man — E. Sreedharan and tries her best to meet him.

The film will be directed by M Padmakumar and S. Suresh Babu. One of the director's Padmakumar says , “Rima’s efforts to see the character of the Metro man named M Madhavan in the film and the consequences will form the plot of the film that will take a look at the city of Kochi too. Rima’s character is a huge fan of the life as well as the achievements of the Metro Man. The time period from the inception of the Metro to the day of its inauguration will be covered in the film. The interesting part is that the role of E. Sreedharan will be played by a leading actor.” The announcement of the film will be made today and the shoot is expected to start in Septmeber. Padmakumar also reveals that Anoop Menon, Srindha, Arun Narayan and Sheelu Abraham amongst others would be a part of the cast.
