Kochi: Dramatic scenes unfolded at the Aluva police club on Friday after the Special Investigation Team probing the actor assault case was forced to postpone the interrogation of director Nadirshah as his heath condition worsened all of a sudden. Nadirshah, 51, a close aide of actor Dileep, currently in jail on conspiracy charges, reached the police club at 9.45 a.m. following the recent direction of the High Court to appear before the investigation team. Rural superintendent of police A.V. George and investigation officer Baiju Paulose had reached there in advance.
As the procedures were about to begin, Nadirshah showed discomfort and complained of uneasiness. A medical team was summoned immediately and the doctors found variation in his blood pressure and sugar level. “We’ve postponed his interrogation after the doctors certified that he was unfit for questioning. He was suffering from high BP and low sugar level. We’ll question him only after two days when we’ll also obtain a medical practitioner’s certificate in advance. We’ll inform the court about the developments,” Mr George said.
Nadirshah’s relatives took him to a hospital at Palarivattom where he had earlier undergone treatment for the same illness. He was admitted to the casualty section before being moved to a room. Hospital sources said he was found to be very “weak and unstable.” No other complications were detected, they said. Two hours later, Nadirshah informed the cops that he was willing to appear before them on Friday itself but the investigation team said they would question him only later after he regains his health fully and the doctors certify the same.
The director was finally discharged from hospital at 6.15 p.m. with the doctors saying his heath parameters had returned to normal. Last week, he had to spend a few days at the hospital with his heath getting worsened. He had moved the High Court for anticipatory bail after the cops issued a notice summoning him for questioning. The court had asked him to appear for questioning after the investigation team informed that there were no immediate grounds for his arrest. The police had questioned Nadirshah along with actor Dileep for over 13 hours in connection with the case earlier. Many statements of the duo were found to be false.
