Vijay was very supportive: Sija Rose
Mollywood girl Sija Rose is receiving accolades for her significant role in Vijay Sethupathi’s Rekka. Now, the charming youngster has bagged a vital character in Vijay’s next Bairavaa, in which she plays a Tirunelveli girl. Having started off as a heroine in Tamil with Kozhi Koovudhu, how did she accept a character role in Rekka? “I had a four-year-long break in Tamil, and I was working on a Malayalam and a Hindi film. Since, I was interested in direction, I also joined as an assistant to filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. I wanted to make a strong comeback in K’Town. When Rathina Siva narrated my part in Rekka, I felt that the audience would definitely connect with it. I gave my nod and today when my performance has been receiving good reviews, my judgment is proved right,” she says with a smile.
The pretty actress also thanks Imman for giving her the poignant Kannamma song, which has become a hit. Talking about Ilayathalapathy Vijay, she says, “Most of my scenes were with Vijay sir and Keerthy Suresh. I am really happy working with Vijay sir. He is very supportive and compliments me whenever I do my shots well. That way, he was extremely down-to-earth.”
She adds, “Since Keerthy and I are Malayalis, we shared a great rapport on the sets. She was quite friendly and we used to discuss lot of things.”
On her role in Bairavaa. she quips, “It is a strong and bold role and I am paired opposite Harish Uthaman. The dialogues were very tough to mouth, but I pulled it off. I am planning to dub my own voice as well, if the director allows me.”
