Prepared for the Best

Ahead of the release of Bandobast, superstar Suriya talks about what he experienced in the NSG camp.

Actor Suriya will be seen as a National Security Guard (NSG) commando in his next film, Bandobast. Directed by K. V. Anand, the film, which is set to release on September 20, also features Mohanlal and Arya.

Talking about the film, the superstar says, “Bandobast showcases what happens at the NSG when a person who is at the highest level in the security cover, goes rogue. Generally, we get salary for doing our work, but people who are in the Line of Control take a salary at the cost of their lives. This film showcases the happenings at the PM’s office in Delhi and the sacrifices made by the NSG.” On his role, Suriya says that he has several shades to it as well as an emotional arch. And to train for his part, the actor took special permission to meet the NSG commandos, learning several things from them. “Meeting NSG at the Delhi training centre was a wonderful experience and I literally experienced brotherhood there. Meeting with officials and understanding how a law is passed was a different experience,” he shares. Stating Anand is like a big brother to him, Suriya states, “He likes to make films that are based on real incidents. His films have an entertainment value, are well researched and are unique. I have a long journey and always cherish working with him.”
