Pretham has a perfect casting: Ranjith Sankar
After the successful release of Pretham, director Ranjith Sankar posted on Facebook about how perfect casting always happens by chance. He wrote that Aju Varghese was supposed to play the character of Padmasoorya Govind and vice versa. “Sharaf U Dheen’s character was not there. Then I decided to make it a gang of 3. Three is always company,” he wrote, possibly remembering the old sitcom ‘Three’s Company’.
He further wrote that many were considered for Sharaf’s role. “But Priyalal I guess was written for him." The three, Ranjith wrote, had become such good friends during the shooting, and there was no ego. They complimented each other superbly. “Special mention to Aju for using all his experience to make it work! Such fun days looking back!” Ranjith concludes, posting also a picture of the three actors who have made him a happy filmmaker today.
