Malayalam actress assault: Cops cite threat, oppose bail
Kochi: The police on Friday submitted before the Angamaly JFMC that if Dileep is released on bail, he may threaten the assaulted actress which would lead to law and order problems. The police opposed the bail application of Dileep and stated that they were yet to recover the mobile phone used to capture the assault which may hinder the investigation. “The complainant in the case is an actress by profession. If released, Dileep may visit her at her work place, that is film locations, and may try to humiliate her. This will lead to law and order issues,” police said. The court will pass the order on Dileep’s bail application on Saturday.
The police reiterated that he conspired with Suni to avenge the actress whom he suspected to have played a role in his marital disputes resulting in the divorce. Dileep may influence Suni’s former counsel Pradeesh Chacko. Dileep may influence the witnesses and will scuttle the efforts of the police to recover the mobile phone, the police said. The conspiracy to blackmail Dile-ep was hatched by Suni with other accused- Sanal alias Mestheri Sanal, Mylapra, Vishnu, Thrikk-akkara and Vipinlal, Changanassery who are the eighth, ninth and 10th accused respectively. Pulsar Suni had concealed the mobile which he used to call Nadirshah and Appunni in the jail kitchen under a vegetable tray, the police said.
