After a gap of two years, actor-turned-director Sidharth Bharathan is all set to come up with his new directorial venture. Sidharth, who wielded the megaphone for Dileep-starrer Chandrettan Evideya and Nidra, will be coming up with a multi-starrer next. The film, titled as Varnyathil Ashanka will have actors Asif Ali, Chemban Vinod Jose, Suraj Venjaramood, Shine Tom Chacko and Sharafudeen in the lead roles.
According to Ashiq Usman, who bankrolls the film under the banner of Ashiq Usman productions, Varnyathil Ashanka will start rolling by end of April. “The film will not be a conventional single hero oriented subject. It goes through the life of five characters essayed by Asif, Suraj, Chemban, Shine and Sharaf,” says Ashiq.
The film written by new comer Thrissur Gopalji is set against the backdrop of Wadakanchery and Kochi. About the heroine, he says “We are yet to finalise the actress, most probably a new comer will don that role.” Editor Bavan Sreekumar and art director Gokul Das, who teamed up with Sidharth in his previous film will come together with the director in this film too, while M.R. Rajakrishnan, Vishnu Govind and Sree Sanker join hands for the sound.
