In the poster, the actor is seen posing with feminine gestures and sports a big red bindi. However, his physical appearance as a male remains unaltered. From the photograph, one should understand that the actor’s character, the king at one point might have to go to exile in disguise. The situation resembles one of the very popular parts in Mahabharata were Arjuna lives in disguise as a eunuch during the last year of the 14-year-exile of the Pandavas.
The movie, which is directed by ace director M. Padmakumar, has been scripted by Sreejith Pillai and produced by Venu Kunappilly. The supporting cast of Mamangam includes Prachi Tehlan, Suresh Krishna, Unni Mukundan, Kaniha, Siddique, Anu Sithara, Sudev Nair, Tarun Raj Arora, and Manikuttan. The release date of the movie, which was supposed to be in November, has been postponed to December 12.
