MLA M Mukesh, CPM on defensive over actor assault
KOLLAM: The CPM Kollam district committee was in a defensive mode as fingers were pointed at actor turned MLA M. Mukesh, for his links with rape-conspiracy accused actor Dileep and aide Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni. The police team investigating the case is expected to record statements of Mukesh as Dileep had reportedly rung up Mukesh on February 17, on the night of the attack on the actor.
Mukesh, who faced repercussions for his comments defending Dileep at a meeting of AMMA, has been given police protection by the state government to protect himself from the wrath of people. Mukesh had raised his voice against media warning them to stop asking “unnecessary” questions when he faced questions associated with the incident of an actor assaulted in a moving car. He later apologised saying it was an “immature” reaction as he has only had an year’s experience as a people’s representative.
Pulsar Suni was working as the driver of Mukesh when the first conspiracy to attack the actor allegedly took place in 2013. Suni worked with Mukesh for an year before he was expelled for his rash driving. Mukesh had also claimed he was unaware of Suni’s criminal background. However, this would not apparently spare him from getting questioned as it has been reportedly found that Dileep had made several phone calls to Mukesh’s number on the very night of actor attack.
The Party leadership also face questions by fellow-comrades on the “decision” taken in 2016 election to field Mukesh as a candidate while the widely accepted P.K. Gurudasan reached the final round of candidate selection. Another MLA from Kollam K.B. Ganeshkumar along with M. Mukesh MLA also confronts protests by opposition parties in every public function they attend after the infamous AMMA meeting held in Kochi.
