Malayalam actress abduction: Police unearths Goa attack bid

Dileep's bail petition to be heard by Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate on Friday.

Kochi: The bail petition of actor Dileep will be considered by the Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Friday morning when his two-day police custody will end. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has unearthed more details regarding the conspiracy behind the assault on the actress on February 17. Originally, the bail plea was set to be heard on Thursday, but the court postponed the same by a day after the police team failed to present the investigation rep-ort. The cops, meanwhile, said the main accused Pulsar Suni had planned to attack the actress at a shooting site in Goa in January after he hatched the “conspiracy” with Dileep inside the latter’s car at the parking ground of Joys Hotel in Thrissur on November 13, 2016.

However, he could not bring his accomplices to the location to carry out the attack and the actress flew back to the state after just one day’s stay there, sources said. Suni, however, managed to execute the conspiracy a month later on February 17 while she was on her way to Kochi from Thrissur. The 48-hour custody period of the actor is slated to end on Friday morning and he is expected to be produced before the magistrate by 11 am. Earlier in the day, the SIT took the actor to Thrissur and collected evidence from three locations, including two prominent hotels and a tennis club. The team returned to the Aluva police club in the afternoon where he was interrogated till late in the evening. Though the conspiracy was first hatched in 2013, it took Suni about four years to execute the plan. Investigation officials said the delay was on account of Suni going into hiding and then being sent into jail in connection with a robbery case.
