After a gap of four years, Revathy Kalamandir, one of the pioneering production houses in Malayalam, is back in action with two movies. Interestingly, both are anthology films. According to G.Suresh Kumar, who heads the banner along with his actress-wife Menaka, the pooja of both projects will be held at the Chitranjali Studio in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
His close friends superstar Mohanlal and award-winning filmmaker Priydarshan will be the chief guests at the function. “As of now, we have not zeroed in on the titles. We hope to announce the titles soon. One project will be directed by noted directors who are faculties at our institute, while the second will be a compilation of short movies directed by our students,” he says, adding, “We are planning to release these films online on the same day as it reaches the theatres.”
Santhosh Sethumadhavan’s Chattakari was the last film from the production house, which had earlier funded films like Aaram Thampuran, Neelathamara and T K Rajeev Kumar’s Rathinirvedam.
