Valentine's day love chat
The popular belief about film personalities is that they are busy bees who live out of a suitcase, without much time for their loved ones. Director Jude Anthany Joseph is one who bucks the trend and has been enjoying life to its brim with better half Diyana Ann James for a year. Truth is, he had even forgotten that year of married life was complete. The Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (OSO) director Jude from Athani and Diyana, a nurse hailing from Kottayam, got hitched on Valentine's Day last year after a whirlwind romance.
“To be frank, it was only a month ago that I remembered that we are completing a year of togetherness. It has been a delightful journey so far. Counting days and years means boredom has crept into our lives. I was mostly at my home engrossed on scripting for my next movie and so we had quality time together. We enjoyed post wedding to places like Munnar, Wayanad and Dubai,” says Jude. On the first Valentine’s Day together for Jude and Diyana in an eight months’ courtship and one year of marriage, they prefer to stay at home and make the most of the day with family.
“I had told her right in the beginning that I’d be a barely-there man when my film projects are on and a doting husband otherwise,” he smiles. Why did he choose V-Day for the wedding? “Beliefs and customs are made for our convenience,” he says. “For instance, during the switch-on ceremony of OSO, the camera failed to work. Naysayers soon termed it ominous and said that the movie won’t run at the box office! Success and failure are all matters of quality.”
Easily one of the most eligible bachelors of Mollywood, Unni Mukundan has a lot of fans among the fairer sex. But Unni is single and believes in a special day being kept aside for expressing love —- so all his fans need not shy away from speaking their minds. He says, “You can celebrate love with your beloved your entire life and need not depend on a single day but I am completely for a special day kept aside to express love. Frankly I have never celebrated V -day till date.”
Talking about his earliest V Day memory, he recalls, “I was in school and was asked to give a rose to the most popular girl studying in another school as a bet. Thankfully she accepted the rose and did not shame me!” Unni though adds that Valentine’s Day is not only to express love towards your beloved but also to your friends and family. Confessing that he is a hardcore romantic Unni, speaks about a regret that he has, “I once got a love letter from a girl when I was in school but did not bother to read it fully because my priority was a cricket match that day. She asked me to read the letter but I just read the start of the letter which read ‘If you like me, smile’. Those words seem so sweet today and I now regret not reading the letter completely and know she must have felt really bad. So my advice to all the people out there is if you get a love letter, please read it!”
Asked about his plans for today, Unni informs that he has no ‘special’ plans and would be shooting for his upcoming film Oru Murrai Vandhu Parthaya but as a parting shot very naughtily adds, “I have a beautiful heroine Prayaga so ……” .
