Parvathy R. Krishna could hardly contain her excitement when speaking about the two songs she was part of. The songs Minji and Poove poopoli are two of the most viral songs that came out this month and Parvathy played the lead role in both these songs. For Malayalis, this dimpled-smile girl is now ‘minji girl’. “Minji was a song I was eagerly waiting for release. I had a hunch that the song would be liked and remembered. We get that vibe when we listen to certain songs, right? But that it would become such a huge hit so soon… I never dreamt of it,” says Parvathy about the song.
“We did not know that the song will release this month. It’s been almost a year since the video was shot. But the other song, Poove poopoli, was shot in a short time and was released within a week. Poove.. has crossed more than 1 lakh views already. Gosh! I am so excited!” Those who follow Malayalam TV serials would recognise Parvathy from popular TV serials and shows. “I am currently working in a serial Rathrimazha in which I play the character Niranjana, an advocate. Niranjana is a bold character; I love playing bold characters. This is my third TV serial.” She gives a sneak peak into her first tryst with acting. Parvathy had acted in a documentary as a child. Later on while doing engineering, she was part of a short film. A song from the short film was uploaded on YouTube following which she got a movie offer. She acted in serials ‘Ammamaanasam’ and ‘Eeshwaran Saakshi’, which won the State Award.”
Parvathy has been flooded with movie offers. “Well, my family is not very keen about the movie part. So I have not accepted any of those offers”, she said. But the icing on the cake; she is getting married in November. Fiance Balagopal.R is a music director and composer of ‘Poove poopoli’. “So as of now I guess settling down with family is of top priority. I will continue anchoring and acting in ads though. And maybe someday after a break I guess I will think about stepping into the big screen,” she sums up.
