This year singer Manjari is super packed. From the role of a playback singer, music composer to hosting a Ghazal show in one television channel, Manjari is much admired for her animated presence.
Music itself has offered her many roles, which she took very diligently and probably that is what gained her a large number of fans amongst the Malayalis. Probably that made her wonder, should she try her bit in acting? It is no surprise if she had not got any calls for acting.
The answer won’t be failing, as the singer just finished acting in her first short film directed by her sister Madhuri Rajendran. "I used to be active in theatre when I was young and have been getting many offers to act in films, but I never took them seriously until now. My sister's team has come up with a project which is about day to day life and relationships. What is most crucial about this project is it is a women-oriented subject which got me interested," says Manjari.
Actor Amith Chackalakal from Honey Bee is pairing up with Manjari for the film. “It was really fun to work with a team I knew. Most of them are experienced under mainstream directors, so it was comfortable to work with them. They haven't finalised the title name for the movie,” adds Manjari.
The singer says she also has a main stream movie lined up, which is also a woman-oriented subject, surely her forte. Not to mention, her first Bollywood project Luche Laffange is coming out, with her singles. "I am also releasing my own Ghazal music project this year," signs off Manjari.
