Malayalam actress abduction: SIT now after supportive evidences
Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) would now focus on collecting supportive evidence to prove the conspiracy in the actor abduction and sexual assault case starting with the 2013 episode when Dileep had an open verbal fight with the female actor during a cultural rehearsal programme here. The cops already took statements from certain actors about the public fight when Dileep questioned the actor over sending his photos along with Kavya Madhavan during a stage show abroad to his then wife Manju Warrier.
Also the hotel bills showing the stay of the actor in a hotel at MG Road in 2013 and another at Thrissur last year were collected besides recording the statements of hotel staff. Sources said a direction has been doled out to collect maximum scientific evidences to prove that the actor and main accused Pulsar Suni aka Sunil Kumar came under the same tower locations at least on five occasions. Suni had already told cops during his interrogation that the quotation was first given to him at the hotel in 2013 and again inside the actor’s BMW car parked at a hotel in Thrissur last year.
All along this period, Dileep had contacted Suni using the mobile phones of his close circles. Sources said the SIT is indulged in the lengthy process of collecting call records of his close friends and relatives, especially since the shooting of the film Georgettan’s Pooram started at Thrissur which they think will prove to be vital. Cops are also attempting to retrieve deleted portions of the CCTV recording of online store ‘Lakshya’, owned by Kavya Madhavan, through the services of IT experts. Meanwhile, Suni is learnt to have expressed desire to record his confession as a secret statement (section 164 Cr PC) before the court on July 19.
