Malayalam actress abduction: How Dileep dug his own pit

Dileep in his complaint to SPC on April 20 claimed that Suni sought Rs 2 crore from him for not mentioning his name in the case.

Kochi: A close reading of the remand report the police filed before judicial first class magistrate, Angamaly, on Tuesday reveals that Dileep’s complaint before the state police chief alleging that the main accused Pulsar Suni was trying to blackmail him has in fact boomeranged on the actor, giving the police the tools to bust several theories he had earlier put forward. Pulsar Suni had managed to WhatsApp a letter to Dileep's manager Appunni through ninth accused Vishnu after April 18, 2017. According to the police, Suni had vaguely asked Dileep to pay him the money in five installments.

However, Dileep in his complaint to SPC on April 20 claimed that Suni sought Rs 2 crore from him for not mentioning his name in the case. The police claimed in the remand report that Dileep had failed to answer when, where and through whom Pulsar Suni demanded this specific sum, while the letter had no mention of an amount. The police claimed that information on the possible visit of Pulsar Suni to Kavya Madhavan's online clothes shop Lakshya at Kakkanad was revealed after they questioned him a second time after they received the complaint along with the letter in which there was a mention of the shop.

Suni was accompanied by fourth accused Vijesh when he reached the shop on February 22. The report said they decided to question Pulsar Sunil only after Dileep filed the complaint. The police, however, said Pulsar Suni has deviated from his earlier depositions in the second round questioning, and that they are checking the veracity of his statements. The report claims that Pulsar Suni continued to make phone calls to Dileep's driver Appunni and his friend Nadirsha demanding money while in jail.
