Malayalam actress assault: Dileep remand extended till August 22
Kochi: Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the actor abduction and sexual assault case, on Tuesday claimed that “madam” was not a fictional character but part of the film industry and that he would reveal her name if the “VIP” in the case refuses to do it. Cops had earlier ruled out the theory of involvement of a “madam” in the conspiracy behind the attack on the star here on February 17. The victim had also cited in her complaint that Suni told her about “madam” while attacking her. However, the police dismissed the angle and said it was an attempt to divert investigation.
“If the VIP is not ready to come out and reveal the whole thing by August 16, I will be doing it,” he told media persons while being taken to court in Kunnamkulam in connection with a bike robbery case. Meanwhile, the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court Angamaly extended remand period of actor Dileep, accused of hatching conspiracy against the past co-star, till August 22. The court accepted the prosecution argument that he could influence persons related to the case. The trial was conducted through video conferencing due to reports of threats involved in physically producing the actor.
In a related development, the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Kakkanad, on Tuesday granted conditional bail to Suni and three others in another case relating to the use of mobile phone inside the prison. Others are Vijesh, Sunil aka Mesthiri Sunil and Vishnu. The Infopark police had registered the case against them following a finding that he had used a stolen phone smuggled in with the help of his cell mates. However, Suni will continue to be in jail in the case relating to the attack on the actor.
