With over 1.75 lakh views in two weeks, Jeevanum Nidhiyum has been creating quite a buzz on internet. For director Shais Muhammed, the unexpected fame from his first short film has turned into a motivation.
The eighteen-and-a-half-minute-long film starring Mareena Michael and Aneesh G. Menon is the dream debut of this Kollam native, who quit his well-paying job in Dubai to pursue his passion. “Films have been my dream for long. I wanted to do it the perfect way if I attempted filmmaking. That’s why I had all professionals on board. It took me one year to develop the storyline to a screenplay,” recalls Shais.
The movie had Ramaniyechiyude Namathil—fame Shafi as the cinematographer and musician Jubair Mohammed and singer Ajmal who are on the team of Gopi Sunder. Actor Jayasurya launched the short film. Made on a budget of '3 lakh, it was shot in Mukkam, Kozhikode.
The film had a stylish narration, with a title card song. The song Imayariyathe... has also become a big hit. “Many have approached us asking for the song, but we are planning to reshoot a video with the same actors and launch it as a separate video,” reveals Shais.
