Sudhhy Kopa is a busy bee
Sudhhy Kopa may be best remembered for his role as ‘Kanjavu’ Soman in Adu but ever since his 2009 debut in Sagar Alias Jacky, he has been turning heads and earning praise as an actor worth his salt. Not surprisingly, the actor who has a theatre background is a busy man these days with a handful of roles in upcoming movies. In the pipeline for the year are Almaara and Oru Mexican Aparatha. Sudhhy is also playing a guest role in Honey Bee 2.
Eight years and 20 films later, he says he is no star or celebrity but just an actor. “Oh no, I don’t think I am a celebrity yet. I am not even getting to select which movies I would like to act in,” laughs Sudhhy. “Right now it’s all about acting in different kinds of movies and being versatile as an actor. For me, it’s my desires that lead me to where I am and helping me grow. I am trying different kinds of roles that fuel my dream. I come from a simple background and I still travel in buses.”
Almaara is the story of three friends, he says. “Myself, Saiju Kurup and Aju Varghese are the friends and my character’s name is Justin who works in Bengaluru.” He doesn’t want to single out a role or two as his favourites but says he chose to play them all because he liked them. In Oru Mexican Aparatha, the actor is playing a student activist. Lakshyam and Veppin Chuvattile Pranayam are his next projects.
