Variety adds spice

The opening of the movie Gagultha Luka 23:34 was held during a boat trip on the Vembanad Lake.

The team members of Gagultha Luka 23:34 believe in experimentation. That has been their forte since the inception of the film. The movie title design was released in a restaurant. Recently, they opened the movie and the music composition on a houseboat on Vembanad Lake. The entire team of Gagultha, which includes actors, musicians and other technicians, went on a one-day trip in a houseboat. The venue witnessed a jamming session of music composition by Ratheesh Vega for the movie.

“The main idea was to build a creative ambiance for the team and rapport among all,” says actor Riaz M.T., who plays a prominent role in the film. “It was on Saturday. We began the journey at 11 am from the fishing point. All members were on board. Then, we travelled through Punnamada and Kuttanad. The trip ended by 6 pm. We had a great time,” he adds.

According to Ratheesh, music director of Gagultha…, who participated in the trip, it was an interesting idea. “I found it different,” he says. “It was actually the opening of the movie. We lit the lamp and the journey was on. The intention was to get familiar with everyone behind the venture. We did a jamming session, which marked the beginning of my music composition for the movie. Now, I am continuing the work at my studio,” says Ratheesh. He is doing three songs in three genres for the movie. Lyricist Rajeev Alunkal was also present for the trip.

Directed by Ajmal Rasheed, the movie narrates the relationship between a grandmother and her grand son. It is Ajmal’s fourth movie after Ringtone, Doctor Innocent Aanu and Kanthari. According to Ajmal, the movie has a link with The Bible’s Luke chapter 23, verse 34, which reads “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
