In a first for an Indian film, National Award-winning Kunju Daivam has won two prestigious Remi awards at the 51st WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. While the Adish Praveen-starrer film won the award for best foreign language movie, director Jeo Baby bagged a Special Jury Award.
The earlier recipients of the award include master director Steven Spielberg, and Life of Pi director Ang Lee. The film had, last year, won Adish the National Award for Best Child Actor for portraying a compassionate boy named Ouseppachan. The film, produced by Naseeb B.R. and Sanu S. Nair, has also been chosen for the International Children's Film Festival coming up in Busan.
