Fans clash over collection claims.

The last has not been heard and the argument is likely to last as long as TGF stays in the theatres.

The war of words and rivalry between Mammootty and Mohanlal fans seems to have got a fresh boost after the release of The Great Father (TGF). After the TGF team claimed that the film made a record breaking collection of Rs 4.31 crore on day one and an all India collection of Rs 20 crore in four days, Mohanlal fans took to social media, questioning the authenticity of these claims. What didn’t go down well with them was the fact that the Pulimurugan record was claimed to have been broken.

Some fans even came out with a point by point rebuttal and a theatre-wise comparison with the collection of Pulimurugan and Kabali. It was TGF producer Prithviraj who first broke the news of an all Kerala grossing of Rs 4,31,46,345 on his Facebook page followed by Mammootty who shared the news of Rs 20 crore collection. The last has not been heard and the argument is likely to last as long as TGF stays in the theatres.
