Dileep to move Kerala High Court for bail

The court had observed that facts show that prima facie there are materials to suspect the involvement of the petitioner in the crime.

Kochi: Actor Dileep, the 11th accused in the actor abduction, will file a fresh bail application before Kerala High Court next week. A single bench had dismissed the bail application of Dileep on July 24 considering the arguments of the prosecution. The court had observed that “facts show that prima facie there are materials to suspect the involvement of the petitioner in the crime. Investigation is still progressing. It is still at a crucial stage.”

Chances of Dileep hiring a Supreme Court lawyer are higher, a source said. Dileep is playing the waiting game as he got legal advice not to move the apex court against the single bench order which had termed the case as “serious and cruel”. The court had also observed that it was too early at this stage to grant bail to the accused, who is at present lodged at Aluva jail. His remand period is set to end on August 8.
