Megha Mathew is on a roll. In her three years in Malayalam film industry, the actress has been lucky to share screen space with Mammootty, Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas. Coming up are Neerali with Mohanlal and Mandharam with Asif Ali.

An excited Megha reveals that none of these has been in her wildest dreams.

“My entry to films was accidental. My dream since childhood was to become a dancer. But when I started doing TV ads, the call from movies came and this all happened. It was never part of my plan,” says the actress, who kicked off her career with Aanandam, followed by Oru Mexican Aparatha, Tiyaan, Adam Joan, Masterpiece, so on.

The Kottayam -based youngster is a graduate in commerce and is currently enjoying her stint in movies. From supporting roles, she has grown into playing key characters in Ajoy Varma’s Neerali and Vijesh Vijay’s Asif Ali-starrer Mandharam.

“In Neerali, I play the character Lakshmi. It's a thriller and so was my role. It was a great experience working with Lalettan,” she recalls.

Mandharam, depicting the journey of Asif Ali's character from childhood to 32 years of age, sees Megha in the role of the love interest of the hero's friend, played by Arjun Asokan. “It's a major character in the movie. Arjun being the friend of Asif's character, I have a full-length role in the film. Like them, I too have three phases in the film — as a college girl, when the setting moves to Bengaluru and then as Arjun’s wife,” she says. The movie, a romantic one, is expected to hit the screens soon.

She also has wrapped up the shooting of Purple, in which she plays the leading lady opposite Vishnu

Vinay. Now, that Megha has bagged a heroine's role, will she be seen in supporting roles?

“I don't fear being typecast. Even as a newcomer, I have been lucky enough to have paired up with the leading actors of the industry. Working with them has been a blissful experience,” feels Megha, who will be making her Kollywood debut soon in a movie starring Jai.

She also reveals her plans to venture into film production as well.
