Anumol to play the lead in Mysore 150 km

The shoot will begin from July 15 in locations of Nilambur and Mysore.

It is a social evil prevalent in many parts of Kerala which brings into sharp focus the vulnerability of women from poorer sections of the Muslim community, who are married off to men double their age and then find themselves abandoned or divorced by their husbands. Known by many names like Arabi Kalyanam, Mysore Kalyanam or Male Kalyanam, the malady is still present though awareness drives are in high gear

Taking on this subject is director Thufayil with his film Mysore 150 km. The title is symbolic of the story as the director explains, “ The story is set in Edakkara in Nilambur and the distance from Edakkara to Mysore is 150 kms. Though the film can be termed as a road movie, it takes on the very serious subject of Mysore Kalyanam. The protagonist is played by Anumol who is a woman caught in such a marriage and the film is woman centric. It is the travel of the lead character to Mysore, told through a flashback.”

Shedding more light, Thufayil says, “Fight master Jolly Bastion’s son Amit Jolly will be making his debut through this film and the others in the cast include Aditi Roy in a prominent role along with Sudheer Karamana, Sunil Sugatha, Indrans, Saikumar etc. The shoot will begin from July 15 in locations of Nilambur and Mysore.
