Popular playback singer and dubbing artiste, Sunitha has had several offers to act in films, but has refused them all. Recently, however, the singer has turned to acting with a role in a short film, Ragam, directed by a woman director, Chaitanya. The story revolves around the life of a single woman — how the society treats her, and how everyone misunderstands her when she distances herself from her husband. The short film is being appreciated by many and so is Sunitha for her acting.
“She wrote the story keeping me in mind and, after making her wait for a long time, I finally said yes to the movie,” says Sunitha. She added that all the other actors like Sameer, Sai Kiran and Sana helped her express in front of the camera. She says that with this short film, she may change her mind about acting in the future. She also hopes that this film will change the trend of short films.
