Ayaal Sassi, by now known for many reasons, including a song that its lead actor Sreenivasan sings for it, is ready for release on July 7, Saturday. After a preview screening at the Chalachitra Academy, the veteran actor was hailed for his performance, for his many efforts including losing 15kg for the role. The film comes from director Sajin Baabu, whose first work had been the critically acclaimed Unto The Dusk that won him many awards at festivals including the Rajatha Chakoram at the IFFK.
Ayaal Sassi is what Sajin calls a more commercial venture. The film, produced by Sudheesh Pillai and P Sukumar, tells the story of Shashi Namboothiri (played by Sreenivasan), a fraudster, whose life changes after a certain incident. A satire, the film takes digs at many real life situations around us. Other actors playing prominent roles are Divya Gopinath, Anil Nedumnagad, Sreekumar, Rajesh Sharma, Arun Nair, Kochu Preman, etc.
