Kalabhavan Mani case still wide open, officials say
THRISSUR: With the final postmortem report of actor Kalabhavan Mani confirming traces of pesticide and the chief examiner at Regional Analytical Lab in Kakkanad giving statement to the police on presence of the same in the actor’s blood, the team of cops probing into the mysterious death of the actor is awaiting the test results of blood samples and internal organs from Central Forensic Lab in Hyderabad.
“The case is still wide open. We are looking into three possibilities in the matter. The pesticide could reach the body of the actor by someone poisoning him or he himself may have taken it. There is a possibility of an accidental intake as well,” an investigating officer in the case told DC.
If the report from the lab in Hyderabad corroborates with the postmortem report and the report from Kakkanad lab and confirms that the death was due to intake of poison, then it has to be found out that how the pesticide entered Mani’s body.
“But, we have not found clues to any of the possibilities yet. The Central Forensic Lab started testing two days ago and the result is expected in a week’s time,” he added.
