All about dance
When Shiroe Brothers — Roshin Shiroe and Shibin Shiroe — decided to do a movie, the subject that came to their mind was dance. Not that they are dancers, but they wanted their project to be interesting. What makes their venture Great Dance unique is that it would be done in 3D format. “It would be the first Tamil and Malayalam 3D dance movie,” claims Roshin. “The focus will be on Western dance forms such as hip-hop. We took dance as it has got a wider audience here after the introduction of dance reality shows.”
The movie is expected to start rolling soon. “We have been working on this for the past one year,” says Roshin. Directed and scripted by Roshin and Shibin, who run a VFX studio, Great Dance will have more than 50 child artistes, 250 professional dancers and prominent actors from Tamil and Malayalam film industry “The hero and heroine will be newbies," says Roshin. It is their experience in VFX that encouraged them to try the 3D format. "We know the working pattern and have all the equipment ready with us. We have been active in the film industry and have worked in close to 40 films.”
The brothers are planning to release the movie in four languages — Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. “The Tamil and Malayalam part will be shot simultaneously. The Hindi and Telugu versions will be dubbed from the Tamil version,” explains Roshin. The movie narrates the story of a family that migrates to Kochi from Chennai.
“They move to Kochi when the mother gets a transfer. Their father, a dancer, is no more. The hero joins a college here where he meets his lady love. Then, there occurs an accident and the hero and his friends go out to help the victim,” says Roshan. Produced by Rajan Shankar under the banner of Shiroe Entertainment, the main locations of the film are Ernakulam, Chennai, Goa and Munnar. The cinematography and editing are handled by Shibin Shiroe, while Four Music composes music for the film. Art direction is by Boban. Stephy Xavier takes care of costumes
