There were some unconfirmed news doing the rounds that Priyadarshan’s next film with Akshay Kumar will be the Hindi remake of his latest project Oppam starring Mohanlal. Denying the reports the director says, “My next film will be in Hindi with Akshay Kumar. But it will not be the remake of Oppam. It will be a fresh subject.”
Priyadarshan was in Jamaica when we contacted him. Quiz him about the possibilities of Oppam’s remake he says, “Yes, Oppam will be remade to other languages. But, I will direct only the Hindi version.” Recently, the director’s Tamil film Sila Samayangalil has been nominated for Golden Globe awards.
